Scrolling text videos are everywhere on Reels, TikTok and Shorts: you read a short script to the camera while the words move up the screen. Here is how to make one in a few minutes with FlowText, with no editing skills.
Open FlowText and tap Create a Video. Type or paste your script, or start from a ready-made text. FlowText shows how many words it has and about how long it takes to read aloud. For a 30-second video, aim for about 75 words.
Open the Style tab. Pick a reading pace: 120 words a minute sounds calm, 150 is a natural speaking speed. Then choose a font, colours and a background.
Choose your layout: camera on top and text below (you decide how much room the camera gets), or a small floating camera you can place anywhere. Allow the camera and microphone when asked.
Tap Record Video. After the countdown the text scrolls and the camera records. The recording stops by itself when the text ends, and you can retake it if you want a better take.
Export in 720p or 1080p, save to your gallery or share straight to Instagram Reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts. Add a hashtag such as #FlowTextChallenge when you post.
Yes. The app is free and shows ads.
No. You write the script, record in one take and export. There is nothing to edit on a timeline.
At a normal speaking pace, about 35 words fill 15 seconds, 75 words fill 30 seconds and 150 words fill 60 seconds. Use the reading time calculator to check yours.
Writing, reading, recording and exporting work offline.
